Not much of a post here. It's actually disappointing. HP will no longer be supporting the HP CIFS Client and Server come July 2015. They have a ridiculous statement that NFS is the replacement. What they fail to understand is interoperability, or at least interfacing, between HP-UX and Windows.
Now the only options I see are these:
1. Stay unsupported and hope nothing goes wrong.
2. NFS share a local file system and setup NFS client on Windows.
3. Have another device/system that will do both, ie netapp, or some other mutliprotocol app.
For me this has been a headache. I cannot work with unsupported technologies. I am currently working on transitioning to netapp. I hope it meets my companies needs.
